Who is Graphene-X?

Graphene-X is a performance apparel and gear brand engineered around advanced materials science. Headquartered in Hong Kong, we build products from graphene, aerogel, and boron nitride among other advance materials to outperform what conventional textiles can do. Twelve Kickstarter campaigns, $3M+ raised, 30,000+ backers across 100+ countries, zero failed deliveries. Our W.A.I.™ technology won the ISPO Innovation Prize in 2024 with the AeroGraph Puffer Jacket.

What is graphene?

Graphene is a single layer of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal lattice. It’s the strongest material ever measured, 200 times stronger than steel by weight, while being one million times thinner than a human hair. It conducts heat more efficiently than any other known material, which is why we integrate it into our fills, fabrics, and linings to regulate thermal performance.

Is graphene safe?

Yes. Graphene is extruded directly into the polymer matrix of the yarn, which locks it inside the fiber rather than leaving it loose. In this bound state, it doesn’t release as free nanoparticles through wear, washing, or skin contact. Independent studies on graphene-integrated textiles show the dermal exposure risk to be negligible. Raw graphene handling happens upstream at the supplier under standard nanomaterial safety protocols, well before the material reaches the finished product.

Why do we keep coming back to Kickstarter?

Because it’s not just funding, it’s a better way to build.

  • Backers Win: Exclusive launch pricing (30-50% off retail). Behind-the-scenes access to product evolution

  • We Win: Zero debt financing (no banks, no investors).

  • The product wins: Direct feedback from backers pre-bulk production. This works as crowdsourced R&D = fewer design flaws = longer-lasting gear

  • The Planet Wins: No overproduction waste (we make only what’s demanded).

Why titanium, and what grade?

Grade 2, commercially pure: the watch-industry standard for wearable hardware. Corrosion-proof in salt and sweat, hypoallergenic, roughly 40% lighter than steel. NATO 20 and AW Buckle share the identical hardware set.

Is this a real NATO?

G10 configuration: 20mm, two-piece with the underpiece pass, so a failed spring bar leaves the watch on your wrist. MoD spec, 1973, requisition form G10; the NATO nickname came from the NATO Stock Number. We kept the geometry and changed the yarn and the metal.

Strap thickness and stack?

1.0mm webbing. The NATO runs two layers under the caseback; the Apple models are single-pass. - “Holes and edges?” 11 oval adjustment holes per strap, edges sealed by laser/ultrasonic finishing. No fraying, no melted-hole look.

Only one color?

Graphene Grey, because the yarn is the color: graphene-integrated fiber is dark by nature, and we ship the material rather than dye a story around it. No other colors are planned for this campaign.

Warranty?

Graphene-X lifetime guarantee, full terms at graphene-x.com/pages/sustainability.

Do we offer refunds in Kickstarter?

While our products are backed by a lifetime guarantee, we do not offer refunds on Kickstarter-backed purchases. That’s because this platform involves upfront costs: Kickstarter fees, payment processing, and fulfillment expenses, among others that we can’t recover. Plus, the pricing here is up to 50% lower than our standard retail price, which makes refunds unfeasible. We’re transparent about this from the start, because that’s how trust is built.

Do the fit GARMIN watches?

The Lattice 20mm NATO Strap fits Small-Sized Garmin Watches Only (20mm Lugs): This strap is a perfect physical fit for 42mm and 43mm watch models. This includes the Fenix 5S / 6S / 7S, Fenix 8 (43mm), and Descent Mk2S / Mk3i (43mm). It will not fit standard 47mm or large 51mm Garmin cases.

Blocks Health Sensors & Charging: Because this is a traditional, continuous one-piece strap, the fabric runs directly under the watch chassis. This completely blocks your heart rate and SpO2 sensors, and you will need to slide the strap out of the way whenever you plug in your charging cable.

Extremely Tight Fit on Newer Models: The strap features a heavy-duty 1.0mm thickness. If you own a Fenix 7S or Fenix 8 (43mm), your watch features permanent, non-removable spring bars with very tight clearance. Pulling this durable fabric through that tiny gap will require a very tight, forced pull.

Wrist Size Coverage: The generous 280mm length will comfortably fit almost any wrist size from 133mm to 210mm.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
